What is the glycemic index?
According to NDTV, the Glycemic Index (GI) is a ranking of foods rich in carbohydrates to see the effect they have on blood glucose levels in the human body.
Foods with a glycemic index of 55 or less cause a gradual increase in blood glucose, while foods with a glycemic index of 70 or more cause a spike in blood sugar levels.
