The Witcher Henry Cavill of fame may have done many close-ups in his career, but he wasn’t a fan of them. In an interview, the actor spilled the beans on why he doesn’t like such scenes and explained his reasoning.

Cavill expressed his discomfort with nudity scenes, noting that they are sometimes unnecessary and overused in today’s entertainment. He believes that leaving some things up to the audience’s imagination can be more powerful than showing everything overtly on screen. Cavill emphasized that while close-ups can sometimes enhance storytelling, relying too much on them can feel like a shortcut rather than adding depth to the plot.
“If you know where you’re going, you’re like, ‘Is it really necessary or just scantily clad people?'” he said. problem. “That’s when you start to get really uncomfortable and you think, ‘There’s not a performance here.’ There’s no one piece to carry over to the rest of the film.
He further explained that watching a movie full of physical interactions can make viewers question the importance of those scenes in the overall story. Such visuals can benefit some stories, he says, “and can really help the storytelling… Most of the time, the human imagination is going to overpower it. So, if a TV show or a movie is full of active bodies, it can be a bit of a cop-out, and you’re like, ‘Okay, but what does this do to us, oh naked person, big’… I’m not a fan of doing those,” she clarifies.

Fortunately for the actor, his upcoming film Argyll, directed by Wan, featured no close-ups. Instead, it’s an action spy thriller in which Cavill plays the lead role of a spy named Argyle. The story revolves around a reclusive writer, portrayed by Bryce Dallas Howard, who becomes embroiled in a real-life espionage adventure whose books expose the secrets of a global crime syndicate.
