The Ministry of Interior of the United Arab Emirates has released data regarding traffic accidents across the country during 2022.
According to Emirates Daily, the Ministry of Interior says that last year there were 369 accidents on the roads of the Emirates which were caused by carelessness and lack of vigilance.
According to the Ministry of Interior, 75 of them took place in Abu Dhabi, 109 in Dubai, 48 in Sharjah, 77 in Ajman, 6 in Umm Al Quwain, 46 in Ras Al Khaimah and 8 in Al Fujairah.
Statistics have revealed that ‘last year 37 traffic accidents were caused due to fatigue and sleepiness. 28 of these accidents occurred in Abu Dhabi, 2 in Dubai, 4 in Sharjah, one in Umm Al Quwain and 2 in Ras Al Khaimah.
A recent review found that drowsiness affects the driver while driving.
According to the traffic police report, most of the accidents due to sleepiness and fatigue occurred during Ramadan.
During the awareness campaign, traffic department experts have asked the drivers to ‘park the car on the side of the road as soon as you feel tired or drowsy and proceed with rest.’
