UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan met with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida at Qasr Al-Watan in Abu Dhabi on Monday.
In the meeting, cooperation between the two countries and ways to take them to new heights in various fields were discussed.
According to the UAE news agency WAM, the two leaders held talks in the context of comprehensive strategic partnership and historic ties between the UAE and Japan.
Important regional and international issues of mutual interest have also been reviewed.
While welcoming the Japanese Prime Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed hoped that the visit would give new inspiration to further strengthen the stable relations between the two countries.
The Japanese Prime Minister conveyed a message of goodwill to the Emirati President and the people on behalf of the Emperor of Japan Naruhito.
In the meeting, various issues of purposeful cooperation were reviewed, especially issues like development, technology, energy, economy, innovation, education, culture, environment, food security, space science were discussed.
Important regional and international issues and situations of mutual interest were also reviewed. Emphasis was placed on the importance of diplomatic solutions, understanding and dialogue to resolve crises.
The topic of the Conference of Parties to the UN Climate Change Agreement was also discussed in the discussion.
The Japanese Prime Minister, while recording his comments in the guest book, expressed his wish that the relations between Japan and the Emirates lead to further development and prosperity. The friendly people of both the countries benefited from mutual relations.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed hosted a luncheon in honor of the Japanese Prime Minister and his accompanying delegation, which was attended by important personalities of both countries.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, President of the UAE, tweeted: “I am pleased to welcome Japanese Prime Minister Fuyomo Kishida to the UAE.
“The two countries have deep and historic ties and today we have explored ways to further strengthen our comprehensive strategic partnership, supporting sustainable global development and stability.”
It should be remembered that the Japanese Prime Minister arrived in the United Arab Emirates from Saudi Arabia on Monday in the second leg of his Middle East tour.
According to the UAE’s official news agency WAM, the UAE’s Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, welcomed the Japanese Prime Minister at Abu Dhabi Airport.
It should be noted that the Japanese Prime Minister arrived in Jeddah on Sunday, July 16, where he met with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and expressed his determination to strengthen bilateral relations with Saudi Arabia.
Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida will arrive in Qatar on Tuesday, July 18, after a one-day visit to the Emirates.
