The UAE has become the fourth largest investor in India.
According to Emirates news agency WAM, UAE has invested 36.61 billion dollars in India.
The partnership between the two countries has opened business and investment opportunities for more than 3.6 billion people.
The signing of the Comprehensive Partnership Agreement between the UAE and India has given a new dimension to the relationship between the two countries. Its implementation started from May 1, 2022.
This deal has given Emirati companies a massive access to the Indian market. Export routes for more than 80 goods have been opened. Emirati companies have benefited from the abolition or reduction of customs duties.
In February 2023, the UAE, France and India also prepared a roadmap for the implementation of the Trilateral Cooperation Programme.
It should be remembered that India and the Emirates signed an agreement in June to promote bilateral non-oil trade and agreed that by 2030, the two sides will do business of up to 100 billion dollars annually.
Emirati Minister of State for Commerce Dr. Thani Al-Zayoudi said that the volume of non-oil business has reached 45.5 billion dollars during the eleven months of the implementation of the strategic partnership agreement.
It should be remembered that the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, met the President of the Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, in his visit on Saturday.
According to the official WAM news agency, the joint statement issued after the meeting said that ‘trade between India and the Emirates has increased to 85 billion dollars in 2022’.
India is the UAE’s second largest trading partner. In February last year, India became the first country with which the Emirates signed a comprehensive economic partnership agreement.
After this agreement, bilateral trade has increased by about fifteen percent.
