Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived in Cairo on Saturday on a two-day official visit to Egypt.
According to Arab News, this is the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister since 1997.
When Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Cairo, Egyptian Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouli welcomed him. He was presented with Garder of Honor and National Anthem was played.
Narendra Modi thanked the Egyptian Prime Minister for the welcome in a tweet.
Modi expressed the hope that “the relations between India and Egypt will grow, which will reach the people of both countries”.

In a tweet while landing in Cairo, he expressed his belief that ‘this visit will strengthen India’s relations with Egypt’.
He said, “I am looking forward to meeting Egyptian President Al-Sisi and participating in other events.”
The Indian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that ‘Narendra Modi will meet Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi on Sunday. The two countries will also sign memorandums of understanding to strengthen bilateral relations.
It should be noted that the Egyptian President participated in India’s Independence Day parade as an official guest this year.
The two countries agreed on measures to increase bilateral trade to 12 billion dollars in five years.
During the Egyptian President’s visit to India, agreements were also signed to increase cooperation in cyber security, information, technology, culture and broadcasting.
