Spanish manager of English Premier League and European football champions Manchester City, Josep Pep Guardiola, has arrived in Egypt with his family for a summer vacation, a tour that will boost Egypt’s tourism industry.

According to Arab News, the CEO of Egypt’s General Authority for Tourism Promotion, Omar Al-Qadi, said that the famous Spanish coach was welcomed at Cairo International Airport on Thursday evening, along with his family.

After spending two days in Cairo, Spanish football coach Guardiola will visit Cairo’s historical sites of Al-Aqsaar and Aswan for another six days.

According to the Tourism Promotion Authority of Egypt, such a well-known personality coming here for tourism will further promote Egypt’s tourism internationally.

Earlier, the director of Egypt’s General Authority for Tourism Promotion, Nasreen Osmanli, was included in the committee that welcomed the Spanish coach and his family at Cairo Airport.

Nasreen Osmanli said that we welcomed the manager of Manchester City along with his office staff with various commemorative shields and bouquets about Egypt’s tourist and archeological sites.

Josep Pep Guardiola has started his eight-day visit from Cairo and will conclude his tour in the historic Abu Simbel region of Aswan Governorate.

Nasreen Osmanli has informed that the distinguished guests have been invited for lunch at a hotel by the General Authority for Tourism Promotion.

Mahans will also be presented with a mask-style gift of ancient Egyptian ruler Tutankhamen as a souvenir.

On this occasion, Ahmed Ifat, an expert in tourism and archaeology, said that Guardiola has also visited Sultan Salahuddin Ayyubid Fort and Muhammad Ali Mosque, which are masterpieces of architecture.

Salah Atros, the manager of Guardiola’s travel management company, said that Guardiola had offers from many countries to spend his summer vacation this year, but he chose Egypt tourism.
