In the United Arab Emirates, the Abu Dhabi Criminal Court has sentenced an Arab woman to imprisonment and a fine.
According to Emirates Al-Youm, the Arab woman is accused of defaming a person participating in the International Book Fair, inciting public opinion and violating privacy through an information network.
The court sentenced the woman to six months in prison and a fine of 50,000 dirhams and ordered her to delete all photos from her mobile phone and close her social media account.
The woman has also been ordered to pay 10,000 dirhams for defamation. In this regard, imprisonment for three years was given with a stay order.
The court ordered that the Arab woman should also be deported after completing her prison sentence.
