A foreign woman has given birth to a baby girl in the Dubai Road and Transport Authority bus from Dubai to Ajman in the United Arab Emirates.
According to Emirates Illum, the bus driver stopped the vehicle when he heard screams from the upper floor of the double-decker bus and found out that a woman was in labor.
The driver immediately moved him to the back of the bus.
Meanwhile, the driver, who has been working as a bus driver in the Dubai Road Authority since 2007, called for an ambulance.
The woman was from Ghana and did not know Arabic. The Egyptian driver served as translator in broken English.
The woman gave birth to a baby girl before the ambulance arrived. As soon as the ambulance arrived, both were taken to the hospital.
The Dubai Authority said in a statement that the driver deserves thanks and appreciation for what he did. He acted quickly with intelligence, speed and took full care of the health, safety and privacy of the female passenger.
The Dubai Road and Transport Authority has praised the humanitarian behavior of Egyptian driver Mustafa.
The girl’s father, Thomas Moya, says, “He is happy about the birth of the girl, she has been named Jalades.”
He said, “I am grateful to the Dubai Authority, which has given full support to my wife at this critical time.” I am also grateful to the hospital which provided health services and facilitated the issuance of the birth certificate.
