A local citizen lost his life after being hit by a speeding vehicle in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates.

According to Emirates Al-Youm, Director of Police of Sharjah’s Al-Sharqiya area, Colonel Ali Al-Hammoudi, said that a traffic accident occurred at Wadi Al-Halem in Kalba city. As soon as the information was received, mobile force and ambulance reached the spot.

The citizen who was seriously injured in the accident was rushed to the hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries.

Colonel Ali Al-Hammoudi said that the investigation revealed that the local citizen was an employee of the local council and was on duty at the time of the accident. He was going to duty after parking his car on the side of the road, while he was seriously injured in a collision with a speeding vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle was arrested. He gave an Iqbaliya statement and said that the vehicle went out of control when he suddenly hit the eye. Meanwhile, this accident happened.

Colonel Ali Al-Hammoudi asked the drivers to obey the traffic rules and regulations. Obey the posted speed limits on highways. Stop the vehicle and park in a safe place if you are drowsy or sleepy. This is necessary for the safety of oneself and others.
