The Ministry of Manpower and Emiratization of the United Arab Emirates has said that from Thursday, June 15, there will be a ban on hiring workers in open places from 12:30 PM to 3:00 PM, which will continue until September 15.
According to Emirates Daily, the Ministry of the Emirates said in a statement that ‘humanitarian foundations have been banned from hiring workers in the heat in open places at noon. High international standards of occupational safety and health are being followed’.
In the statement, the ministry expressed its belief that ‘the private institutions of the UAE will enforce the ban and take care of the health and safety of their employees’.
The Ministry of Manpower and Emiratisation says that ‘duty cannot be taken from employees for more than 8 hours a day. In case of additional duty, overtime has to be given.
It was said in the statement that ‘noon duty will be exempted from such works which cannot be suspended but in case of exceptional circumstances providing cold water to the employees, taking care of their health and safety and arranging first medical aid. It will be necessary to do’.
