Abu Dhabi is set to set up its first vehicle factory that uses recycled materials to promote sustainable production in the region.
UAE-based e-commerce platform Sanha has signed an agreement with international partners to build the first such facility in the country, according to the official WAM news agency.
According to Arab News, Sanaha is an Emirati business-to-business platform that supports, promotes and markets national industries and products.
This The initiative marks an important milestone for the country’s automotive sector and will help advance the UAE’s industrial strategy.
In a statement, SANAHA chairman said, “At the SANAHA platform, we support all national efforts and strategies in a coordinated manner with all partners to support the national industrial sector and improve industrial capacity.”
“Vehicles produced at the facility will feature exterior structures that increase fuel efficiency by reducing weight and material consumption,” the WAM report added.
The factory will also supply the international market with affordable, high-quality cars with advanced four-wheel drive technology.
The agreement was signed during the Make It in Emirates Forum from May 31 to June 1 at the Abu Dhabi Energy Center.
The report added that the agreement is in line with the 28th session of the United Nations Climate Change Conference to be held in the United Arab Emirates in November.
The Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology and Sanaha last week signed a memorandum of understanding to support the development of the national industrial sector through data exchange and digital marketing, enabling the local, regional and global distribution of UAE-made products. The agreement is in line with the objectives of the National Strategy for Industry and Technology to develop the UAE’s industrial sector and promote local products among consumers and strengthen the supply chain.
