Clashes and renewed artillery fire have been reported since Sunday morning in some areas of the Sudanese capital Khartoum, shortly after the end of a 24-hour ceasefire.
According to Reuters news agency, clashes have resumed in Sudan after eight weeks of fighting between rival military factions.
Witnesses said fighting resumed shortly after the truce ended at 6 a.m. north of the city of Umdurman.
Umdurman city is one of the three cities adjacent to Khartoum and Bahri at the confluence of the Nile River.
Residents of Khartoum reported artillery fire in the eastern suburbs of the capital in the area east of the Nile River, while various explosions and clashes were reported in Khartoum.
It should be noted that the war broke out on April 15 between the Sudanese army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces.
