Miracles do still happen in the movies, and ‘The Princess Diaries’ is one of them. ‘The Princess Diaries’ was released on July 21, 2001, and became an instant hit. The movie follows Mia Thermopolis, who thinks she’s just an ordinary teenager. In reality, she’s a princess of Genovia. The movie starred Anne Hathaway as Mia and Julie Andrews as Queen Clarice. The movie was such a hit that a sequel was greenlit. ‘The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement’ was released in 2004.

When ‘The Princess Diaries’ came out, Anne was an unknown star. The movie was her feature film debut. Since the movie and its sequel, Anne has starred in countless other hit films like ‘The Devil Wears Prada,’ ‘The Dark Knight Rises,’ ‘Interstellar,’ ‘Love and Other Drugs,’ and more. She was nominated for her first Oscar in 2009 for ‘Rachel Getting Married.’ She won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in 2013 for her performance as Fantine in ‘Les Misérables.’ Since 2012, Anne has been married to Adam Shulman.
