Pedro was born José Pedro Balmaceda Pascal, a child psychologist and reproductive therapist, on April 2, 1975, in Santiago, Chile. Just nine months after his birth, his family took political asylum in Denmark and later in the United States, where they lived in Orange County, California, and San Antonio, Texas.
While he appeared on screen in several minor roles in both film and TV shows throughout his early acting career, his appearance as Oberyn Martell on HBO’s ‘Game of Thrones’ solidified his role in the pop culture sphere. He stayed on the HBO train with the series ‘Narcos’ and landed key roles in ‘Wonder Woman 1984’ (2020), ‘Kingsman: The Golden Circle’ and other projects. He is perhaps best known now for his starring role in Disney+’s ‘Star Wars’ series ‘The Mandalorian’.
