Courtney Love, born July 9, 1964, is a musician and actress, best known as frontwoman Hole and wife of late Nirvana rocker Kurt Cobain. Born to hippie parents, Courtney bounced from place to place during her childhood and adolescence, when she began playing in local punk bands. She initially pursued a career as an actress, with roles in ‘Sid and Nancy’ (1986) and Straight to Hell (1987).

Courtney Hall formed in the late 1980s and received critical acclaim with their 1991 debut album, which was produced by Kim Gordon. Their second album, Live Through This (1994), is considered a grunge canon. Courtney began acting again in 1995 and received a Golden Globe nomination for The People vs. Larry Flynt in 1996. Hole’s third album ‘Celebrity Skin’ (1998) was nominated for three Grammy Awards. More acting followed, with roles in “200 Cigaretts”, “Man on the Moon” (1999), and “Trapped” (2002). She has also appeared in Sons Of Anarchy and Empire.

Courtney is a mother of one, with a daughter, Frances Bean, from her marriage to Kurt Cobain, who passed away in 1994. She has publicly dealt with addiction and legal problems. She was ordered to court-mandated rehabilitation in 2005.
