Mani Ratnam‘S ‘nestThe movie, which was released in 2004, will complete its 20th anniversary this week. The film continues to be unforgettable with its story, performances and music. As the film is scheduled to celebrate two decades, Vivek recalled his memories of the film in a recent interview.
Vivek recalled that he had a terrible accident on the sets of the film and broke his leg into three pieces. ‘Home’ was released a year after Vivek’s exit was reported Aishwarya Rai. However, as his memories of the film are precious now, he called Abhishek his ‘friend’ and shared that Ajay and Abhishek were by his side from start to finish. Vivek told Times Now, “An extremely fun day turned into pain when my left leg was broken in three places due to a terrible motorbike accident. I remember my brother Ajay and my friend Abhishek were with me, carrying me to the hospital, being with me. The pain of broken bones is always painful.” It pierces my skin with blood on the floor.”
Vivek revealed that Mani Ratnam suffered a heart attack after seeing Vivek’s accident. He further added, “The worst is yet to come. After witnessing my accident, I came to know that Mani Anna had suffered a heart attack. While we were both recovering in the hospital, Ajay and Abhishek were with me, lifting my spirits with jokes and painkillers in a not-so-clear situation.” Vivek said it took him four months to recover.
He limped back to the set and completed the shooting of the songs ‘Fanaa’ and ‘Anjaana Anjani’. But now that he thinks about it today, Vivek wonders how he managed it.
Meanwhile, Abhishek received many accolades and awards for ‘Home’. His chemistry with Rani and his song ‘Kabhi Neem Neem’ were loved in the movie.
