Rumors had it that Bilal Lashari’s The Legend of Moolah Jat might release in India too after garnering great response from countries around the world.
According to sources, the film will be released in India on December 30, but no official announcement has been made by the authorities yet.
Since 2019, there is a ban on cultural exchanges between both India and Pakistan. But still some Punjabi movies from India managed to release in Pakistan.
Pakistan’s highest-grossing film is likely to respond to the ban with its release in India, while it may also ease restrictions on the release of its own films in other countries.
The Legend of Moolah Jat is the biggest motion pictures of Pakistan which was released in theaters on 13th October. Mahira Khan, Fawad Khan and Hamza Ali Abbasi in lead roles. The film has earned PKR 200 crores at the worldwide box office.
Directed by Bilal Lashari, the film set high records not only in domestic cinemas but also in the US, Europe and Gulf markets.
Earlier, Jawani Phir Nahi Aani 2 was Pakistan’s highest grossing film, earning Rs 73 crore worldwide.
The Legend of Maula Jatt is a remake of the 1979 cult Pakistani classic film Moula Jutt. It tells the story of a local folk hero named Maula Jatt and how he defeats his nemesis, a brutal clan leader, Nuri Nat. Apart from Fawad Khan, it also includes Hamza Ali Abbasi, Hamaima Malik and Mahira Khan.
