Sandeep took to X and shared the Telugu trailer of the film, which released on June 21. Along with the post, the ‘Animal’ director wrote: “Great trailer. I saw it three times. This is definitely a very new world and a very new experience. FDFS Pakka @nagashwin7 party time..” And tagged Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan and music composer Santhosh Narayanan.
Governing Nag AshwinThis movie is inspired by Hindu scriptures and is set in the year 2898 AD.
The teaser offers a rather dystopian re-imagining of Ashwin. Mahabharat through a futuristic vision. Fans are introduced to Kaashi, a remote place located atop a mountain that offers all the comforts of home, including food, drink and shelter. Striving to reach the top, people from distant places are trying to take help from Saswata Chatterjee’s portrayal of the King. Since he is the sole ruler, others must submit to him.
But slowly, it becomes clear that a child is being groomed who has the potential to dethrone him and usher in a new Yug. Later, Deepika Padukone is introduced to us in the trailer. It is said that she is expecting a child who will change the course of history. Probably realizing the threat, the King of Kailash places a bounty on Deepika’s person. Prabhas plays Bhairava, the hunter who is considered the most successful. Amitabh Bachchan, who plays the character Ashwatthama, informs Deepika Padukone that she carries ‘God’ in her womb.
At the end of the trailer, the king is seen trying to catch pregnant Deepika, who is carrying his arch-enemy. Prabhas aka Bhairava, who was assigned for the mission, boasts that he has never lost a battle.
‘Kalki 2898 AD’ will be released in theaters on June 27.
