The actor admitted that he faced a lot of financial troubles during his initial days in Mumbai.
In his conversation with Ranveer Allabadia in his podcast, the actor talked about the days when he had to go to FTII and said: “The most difficult time was facing financial difficulties and not being able to find a job. My mother supported me a lot and told me when to become a candidate.” She arranged it and sent it because I had no money left. I remember, I had only Rs 18 left in my account and we three were living in the same flat in a city like Mumbai. I would skip lunch and have a Parle Ji and Frooti for lunch. My lunch cost me Rs 4 back then.
However, his bandmates helped him a lot. “Now, the day I had only Rs 18 left in my hand, I was thinking what to do? We have a FTII (Film and Television Institute of India) committee in Mumbai. Most of our final year students and juniors live here. So you can call anyone and ask what they had for dinner and whether you can come.” You can ask.”
But it wasn’t immediately after coming to Mumbai that Rajkummar decided to learn acting. His journey and struggle started much earlier, when he was in Delhi. He admitted that he would bike 140 kilometers every day to reach his acting school. Rao said, “After school, I started preparing to become an actor. After completing school, I joined Sri Ram Center in Delhi, it is an acting school. I was 18 then. So someone told me to go to college for graduation and so I could buy a Bus ticket so I could save money.” You save money, I learned this very late. Before that, I used to cycle to acting school and cycle up and down 70 km. Songs like “Lakshya Ko Har Haal Me Pana Hai”, “Papa Kahte Hain” and all of them sound vague on my walkman on the way there. “It’s coming, but it used to be a lot of fun.”
Stream ‘Srikanth Bolla’, Rajkummar will be seen in the next releaseMr and Mrs Mahi‘ next to you Janhvi Kapoor.
