Nag Ashwin‘S Kalki 2898 ADstarring Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Hassan, Prabhas And Deepika Padukone It is breaking box office records worldwide. In just 5 days, the film has earned over 343 crore rupees in India and over 11 million US dollars in North America. However, the film saw its first major decline in India on the fifth day in languages, especially Telugu and Hindi. Since the release of the film, the collection of the film was mostly driven by the Telugu versions and by the end of the week, it was the Hindi version that gained momentum and started running shoulder to shoulder and even overtook it by 2 crore rupees.
While the film’s overall box office decline was around 61% on Monday, the Telugu version fell around 63% from Rs 38.8 crore on Sunday to Rs 14.5 crore on Monday, while the Hindi version fell around 60% from Rs 40 crore to Rs 16.5 crore.
On Monday, Kalki overtook films like SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2- The Results, which had grossed Rs 384 crore in 4 days till its first Monday, while Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan earned Rs 380 crore in 5 days and S.S. RajamouliRam Charan and Jr.NTR’s RRR was 373.5 crore rupees in 4 days.
On the other hand, director Nag Ashwin is gearing up for the second part of the film which will take his mythological futuristic film a step further; in the film, Ashwatthama (Amitabh Bachchan) and Bhairava/Karan (Prabhas) will fight against the Almighty Yaskin (Kamal Haasan) and help in the birth of Lord Vishnu’s 10th avtaar Kalki.
