According to a report in Pinkvilla, initial estimates suggest that the film has grossed between Rs 18.00 crore and Rs 19.00 crore on Friday alone. Set against the backdrop of the Mahabharata, this sci-fi epic has now amassed a two-day net total just under the Rs 40 crore mark.
While the film has seen a drop of less than 10% in the top three national chains – PVR, Inox and Cinepolis – the mass circuits saw an expected drop of around 12% on Friday, which is typical for Thursday releases. This steady hold in collections bodes well for the future prospects of ‘Kalki 2898 AD’. The film is now targeting another ₹ 20 crore on Saturday and is aiming to approach the ₹ 30 crore mark by Sunday.

However, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ is expected to make up for it with a stronger than usual performance on Sunday. The film is targeting a four-day weekend collection of over Rs 85 crore and is aiming to approach the Rs 90 crore mark.
On the global stage, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ collected a staggering Rs 163 crore on its opening day, making it the third highest single-day collection for a Hindi film after ‘Bahubali 2’ (Rs 200 crore) and ‘RRR’ (Rs 189 crore). The film continues to perform well both domestically and internationally on Friday, and detailed estimates for both markets are expected soon.
