Javed-Kangana controversy: In the year 2016, there was a huge controversy between Kangana Ranaut and Hrithik Roshan. Both had made many allegations against each other. In this connection, lyricist Javed Akhtar had called her to his house to talk to Kangana. In an interview in the year 2020, Kangana had said that Javed Akhtar had threatened her by calling her to his house, after which Javed Akhtar filed a defamation case against Kangana.

What did Javed Akhtar tell the court

According to India Today’s report, Javed Akhtar told Mumbai’s Andheri Metropolitan Magistrate Court on Tuesday that he did not know Kangana at that time. Both of them’s common friend Dr. Ramesh Aggarwal wanted to give some suggestions to Kangana on the issue of Hrithik.

Javed Akhtar said- It is true that I did not know Kangana and I had nothing to do with the Hrithik controversy going on at that time. But Kangana was called by Dr. Aggarwal, who has a close relationship with Kangana. He had called Kangana to meet him.

He further said- It is true that Kangana was not ready to listen to me and she left my house with her elder sister Rangoli. Although it is not true that she was unhappy with my statement.

Kangana knew the agenda of the meeting

Javed Akhtar was asked in the court whether Kangana and her sister Rangoli had come to his house that day of their own free will. According to PTI, Javed Akhtar replied – You expect Kangana to come on her own wish. I don’t know whether she came of her own free will or not but it is true that she was looking for some possibilities. She wanted that there should be a solution to this issue.

I told him the agenda of the meeting on the call. I didn’t call him in 2016 to talk about the weather, the political situation or the US election. He said that even though he did not know Kangana personally, he definitely liked her as an actor. When he came to know in the meeting that Kangana was not going to listen to him, he changed the matter.

What did Kangana say in the interview

Talking to a news channel after the suicide of Sushant Singh Rajput in the year 2020, Kangana had told that Javed Akhtar had asked her to apologize to Hrithik Roshan. He had said- Once Javed Akhtar called me to his house and said that Rakesh Roshan and his family members are influential people. If you do not apologize to them, then you will not be able to move forward. Those people will put you in jail and only the path of destruction will be left for you, you will be forced to commit suicide. These were his words. He shouted at me a lot. I was trembling in his house.

Javed Akhtar told the court that whatever Kangana has said in the interview is a lie.
