House Of The Dragon’ Episode 3: Breakdown – Lady Johanna, Missing Fingers And Other Details, Explained

There is no doubt that “Dragon of the House” episode 3 is quite a roller coaster ride full of emotions, it is the right amount of drama that we all wish for. I happened in a lot of things, especially in this episode, where motivational A lot of talk in Abuli words. Whether it was Princess Rhaenyra of Vangipooran remarks, King Viserys of torture, or Prince Daemon of the explosion of anger, everything had its meaning. In addition, there were many a few references from the history of the Targaryens that were discussed or hinted at throughout the episode, in which we would like to explore and further (try to) understand their meaning.

In the opening scene of “The House of the Dragon,” Episode 3, we saw a shot depicting the burning banner of the House of Velaryon’s Driftmark. The flag has been destroyed by fire (an element that represents the Targaryens). That probably shows that House Velaryon has faced a major setback after Daemon and the Corlys declared war against the Triarchy. Demon can be seen here killing his own men which is no doubt a good guide to the quality. Their brutal actions and attitude towards their people can be shot in the opening of the Burning Banner, which means that House Velaryon is not only being destroyed by the Triarchy but also by Their own allies, namely, Daemon and Viserys (who refused to lend support to anyone Corlys).

In a scene that we witness at the end of Episode 3, House Velaryon’s banner is floating in the water. In the war against the Triarchy, both fire (Targaryens) and water (three sisters) have been turned into ruins in the house Velaryon. Fortunately, Daemon’s pride saved the kingdom of drowning and as its lord he killed Crabfeeder in the end.

Viserys finally gets a male heir from his new queen, Alicent Hightower, and he names the boy Aegon second. The name “Aegon” belongs to the first Targaryen king who conquered all of Westeros and sat on the Iron Throne. So what did Viserys choose to name his son after his ancestors? Well, during a bonfire sequence at the end of the house “Dragon” episode 3, Viserys shares < ; ; > With this confusion his new wife, Alicent, and told him that when Rhaenyra was still a small child dreamed that he was wearing the crown of the conqueror to produce a male heir. The word “conqueror” here probably points to Aegon the Conqueror, whose crown can be seen in Viserys’s dreams and is believed to be his first son as a child so brilliantly judged and so named. After that.

Missing fingers and a lot of worry

Viserys and his party had arrived at a royal hunt for the kings wood, where a royal hunter informed that the king had gone to see a White Hart. The king and his men hunted for the plan, Whiteheart, but they failed to track it down, and at the end of the day out, they killed Viserys a male stag. However, while Viserys was trying to kill the animals were shaking his hands badly, probably for three reasons. A: We saw that there were two missing fingers on the hands of Viserys, and we can assume that he was told to cut off his fingers to prevent the spread of tetanus infection. His finger was cut by the Iron Throne in previous episodes, and his authorities failed to find any cure. His hands were probably shaking because he was not able to hold up, or maybe he was in severe pain. Secondly, it may also be surmised that the whole stabbing and squealing of the deer reminded Viserys of his own guilt, where he held himself responsible for the death of his son Baelon, and his wife, Aemma. In a previous scene, he said Alicent about the dream he had about the boy. Viserys thought that with his obsession with a male heir like Aegon killed his wife and son, and that the heart of the murder reminded Viserys is the same. Swim, he may also be drunk.

The king was driven mad by his daughters

Viserys was extremely haunted by thoughts of Rhaenyra’s marriage, and this rebellious attitude only added fuel to the fire. However, Lord Lyonel strongly pointed out that it was not the first time a Targaryen king had been pushed to the edge of madness by his daughters. He was referred, to the king Jaehaerys, whose daughter Daella was so fragile and confused that the king and queen Alysanne failed to find a suitable groom for him. Daella also rejected Corlys Velaryon as written in the book “Fire and Blood.”

In the end, Daella chose a husband named Lord Rodrik of the house of Arryn, who is a sharp image of her own father’s old king. Nevertheless, Daella’s anxiety and turmoil never really left her troubled mind and fragile body, and she died while giving birth to her only daughter, Aemma Arryn. Later, Aemma is to marry Viserys, and coincidentally, Aemma suffers the same fate as her mother who died during childbirth (although not the first one) and left behind a daughter. After Daella’s death, Alysanne blames her daughter’s early marriage to Jaehaerys.
But she was not ready to become a mother. The argument became a turning point in their happy married life. Coincidentally, the maesters believed that the reason behind Aemma’s death was the same, he thought she was bedded too soon.

During the same scene with Lyonel, the writers introduce the name of Lyonel Strong’s son, Ser Harwin, in the dialogue “Bones”, and ironically, it is the name of Corlys Velaryon’s son, Laenor. . Lyonel suggests that Viserys entertains the idea of marrying Rhaenyra to Laenor to heal the broken relationship between the two houses. However, what is important here is that both of these two men are going to mention dialogues that play an important role in the life of Rhaenyra. While one will be her husband, the other will be her rumored lover and father to her children. This controversy is going to be covered more in episode 4.

Lady Johanna

In the beginning of the episode, Lord Tyland Lannister who works on Viserys’ official council informs the king that Crabfeeder and his men sabotage the king’s fleet. After the start of the Triarchy war, the king’s fleet was attacked, and perhaps one of them took the vessel, the fifteen-year-old niece of Lord Stonehelm, a woman named Johanna Swan. The Crabfeeder and his co-admiral took Johanna prisoner and demanded a ransom, but Johanna’s uncle refused to pay, after which he sold a pillow in his house free cities. While the event does not talk about her fate further according to the book “fire and blood” Johanna will live, difficulties and increase to become a celebrated courtesan known as the “black swan” and finally by a ruler. A free cities, equipped, too, but in name only.

Dragons and dragons

There have been three big seen in Dragon Episode 3, where some minute details really catch our attention. First, when the demon attacks Crabfeeder and his men riding into the valley, one of the dragons shoots a burning arrow at them in their armor. Daemon feels the pain, and at the same time, his dragon, Caraxes, screams out, as if the dragon felt the pain of his master. 2-year-old Aegon in the hands of a small dragon Sunfyre in the second dragon event we witness. We can speculate that the dragon Sunfyre will be shown in the next episode, and Aegon will probably be his rider. As per the books Sunfyre is one of the most beautiful dragons in the realm and thus, we really look forward to his presence on the screen. The third dragon we have come across is Laenor’s own dragon, Seasmoke. Laenor’s mother, Rhaenys Targaryen explains why he will get himself a dragon, and maybe his sister, Laena will get one too if they are following the trend.

Rhaenyra the one and only true king

I personally believe that among all three people: Rhaenyra, Viserys, and Daemon, Rhaenyra is a true king that deserves the seven kingdoms, but they are in denial. Well, Episode 3 drops a lot of hints that Rhaenyra’s virtues are a real guide. First of all, he does not like killing people unjustly like his uncle, Damon, and so has the same opinion as his uncle in this matter. From the beginning of season 1, Viserys does not despise Daemon’s brutal ways, and Daemon hates his brother equally because of these ways to solve things in a peaceful way and by the books. From, and thus considers him a weak king not to fit the rule of law, which is really true. But Rhaenyra is neither too cruel like her uncle nor too reluctant like her father. He is bold towards his enemies and humble towards his allies.

Signs of his personality can be observed in episode 2 when he reveals to the council that he should take out their dragons and end the Crabfeeder crisis once and for all. But Viserys was not ready to go to war with free cities, even if he attacked fleets. In the end, it was Daemon who made war against them, but Viserys was very reluctant to help his brother. In the end, the two brothers ended up doing what Rhaenyra had advised in the first place, but why would they listen to it? the right? In the same episode, we also saw Rhaenyra brutally killed by a wild boar before it attacked. It explains that he does not attack anyone until and unless he is attacked or threatened by their presence. Rhaenyra is indeed a perfect mixture of a dream and a dragon rider.
