HomeEntertainmentDeepika Padukone says she becomes a 'guinea pig' to test her skincare...

Deepika Padukone recently said that the primary goal of her skincare brand 82E is to ensure the effectiveness of the product without compromising on the ingredients, adding that she is a ‘guinea pig’ testing every new product to achieve that objective. Becomes.

Revolutionizing skin care with simplicity

Given the saturated market, Deepika Padukone’s decision to launch skincare brand 82E initially surprised many. However, since its inception in 2022, 82E has successfully carved a niche for itself. As the company celebrates its first anniversary, it plans to expand its research and development (R&D) capacity.

In an interview with Forbes India, Deepika highlighted that sustainability has been the most powerful tool in the company’s arsenal. “We first identified a pain point, which was mine too,” he said. Why does skin care have to be so complicated? Many brands delve deep into complex routines and ingredients. I was someone who wanted beautiful glowing skin, but I also wanted it to be simple yet effective. Another issue was always choosing between brands or products based on Ayurveda versus brands or products based on science. So, we brought it all together, put it in a bottle, and that’s how 82 EAST came into being. In fact, we’re now seeing other brands discussing simplified skin care, and we’re really happy with that.”

Ensuring effectiveness without compromising on the ingredients is the primary goal of Deepika Padukone’s skincare brand, 82E. She insists that she herself acts as a guinea pig whenever they launch a new product.

“After getting a broad idea, we approach our R&D team, which takes a few months to design different products. With our R&D center in Bengaluru, I am the first one to try any new item once they launch the product. Every product on the market I have tried first, given feedback, and then it moves on to clinical trials,” she explained.

Global expansion and revenue milestone: 82E’s successful first year

Jigar Shah, fund manager and venture capitalist of Deepika Padukone’s skincare brand 82E, said that the company shipped its products to more than 50 countries last year. He further mentioned that they are on their way to achieve an annual revenue rate of Rs 100 crore.

Describing 82E’s journey as “extremely gratifying”, Deepika highlighted the hard work involved. “Even though we just launched it last year, we actually worked on it for about two years or more before that to really get everything up and running.”

Brand Deepika: An emotional extension

Deepika mentioned that although she is putting all her energy and focus into 82E, she would be open to investing in more startups if she finds any interesting and exciting opportunities. “I think we’re always open. We’re always open to it,” he said. The two also emphasized “growth, growth, growth” as a two-year plan for the company.

When the interviewer asked what Brand Deepika means, the actor said: “I think it is very difficult to express because Brand Deepika is more of a feeling than a set of adjectives. I am a person who feels more than I am able to say. So, I try and express, and then everything I do is an extension, but also my way of expressing. Be it 82 East, the Live Love Laugh (LLL) Foundation, or the films I love, all these things are an extension of my identity and I feel that this brand is Deepika.
