Pooja Bhatt claims that she knows Mahesh better than the rest of his siblings

Pooja Bhatt and Alia Bhatt recently opened up about their relationship with each other. He also talked about his equation with Mahesh Bhatt. Responding to this, the actress claimed that she knows him better than Alia Bhatt. In his words:

“I feel I had the privilege of knowing her in a way that Alia, Shaheen and Sunny never did. Because I knew him through a tough time – I saw him struggle with alcohol, I saw him quit drinking. And for me this is his greatest achievement. I think I have an edge over my brothers and sisters, not because I have worked with them, but because I have seen them go through the depths of despair, and I have seen them emerge.

During the same conversation, the host asked Pooja Bhatt about the letters that her father Mahesh Bhatt wrote to her when she was 21 years old. Elaborating further, Pooja confessed that those letters were written five years after her birth. The host also asked her if Aaliyah ever felt jealous that her half-sister achieved that. Responding to this, Pooja said:

“To be honest, five hours after my birth… You don’t know this story, Alia? Oh, you’re suddenly jealous because you didn’t get a letter?

Hearing Pooja’s revelation, Alia Bhatt admitted that she was very jealous. He told how his father Mahesh did something special for his first child. In his words:

“Yeah, I’m so jealous.”

Talking further about the letters, Pooja revealed that her father was drunk when he wrote the letters. Since Pooja told how Mahesh wrote those letters to her, she also told. Furthermore, Pooja told that she was born when her father was struggling as a person. Pooja said:

“Well, he wrote me a letter five hours after I was born, and he was drunk on a few beers and that’s all he could afford. ‘Be true and fearless for your share of divinity, and not for sin.’ And he said, ‘You were born at a time when I was a struggling person and some say your mother brought me luck, some say you will. You can be anything you want in this universe and you are the heartbeat of this unfathomable universe’… and he signed off – ‘Call me Mahesh, papa… call me whatever you want’.
