The new Hollywood movie ‘Barbie’ has been released in cinemas around the world including Pakistan.

The film has managed to gain immense popularity worldwide even before its release due to its trend, cast and release with Christopher Nolan’s film ‘Oppenheimer’.

The main cast of Barbie includes Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, Greta Gerwig, Will Ferrell, Emma McKay and Simon Liu. Barbie is directed by Greta Gerwig.

The story of the film revolves around Barbie (Margot Robbie) and Ken (Ryan Gosling) living in ‘Barbie World’ who come to the world outside their Barbie world and discover the joys and dangers among humans.

The film has received extraordinary popularity even before its release due to the roles of Ryan Gosling and Margot Robbie, after which fans of the film in cinemas around the world dressed in pink Barbie costumes.

On the other hand, due to the simultaneous release of Barbie and Oppenheimer, moviegoers have coined the new term ‘Barbenheimer’.

The handle Film Updates on social networking site Twitter said, ‘Happy Barbenheimer Day.’

On the other hand, Rutaba humorously shared a clip of the Pakistani drama ‘Dolly Ki Aaye Gi Barat’ and wrote that ‘Happy Barbie Day to everyone from the original Barbie of Pakistan.’

In this clip, actress Bushra Ansari wears pink clothes and asks Javed Sheikh how she looks. In response, the actor compares her to a Barbie doll.

It should be noted here that the screening of the film Barbie has been banned in the Punjab province of Pakistan. Barbie has been banned in Punjab due to the film’s homophobic elements.

On this, a user named Lupine edited the picture of Ryan Gosling and Margot Robbie on the poster of the Pakistani film ‘Punjab Nahi Jaon Gay’ and wrote, ‘Punjab Nahi Jaon Gay.’

Twitter user Gulab Janu wrote in his tweet that ‘tickets are not available. Apply for a job in Senegold (Cinema).’
