Famous British-American director Christopher Nolan’s upcoming new movie ‘Oppenheimer’ is trending on the internet even before its release.
The first trailer of this film was released in December last year, since then moviegoers are eagerly waiting for the release of ‘Oppenheimer’.
Christopher Nolan’s film is based on the 2005 Pulitzer Prize-winning book ‘American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer’ by Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin.
Who was Oppenheimer?
Julius Robert Oppenheimer, born in 1904 in the American city of New York, was an American theoretical physicist. Oppenheimer is also known as the ‘Father of the Atomic Bomb’.
Oppenheimer was the director of the Los Alamos Laboratory during World War II. It was the laboratory where the famous Manhattan Project was created.
What was the Manhattan Project?
The Manhattan Project was a World War II project established on August 13, 1942, in which the United States, with assistance from Great Britain and Canada, first developed chemical weapons.

Oppenheimer led the team working on this project, researching and building nuclear weapons.
It should be noted here that the two atomic bombs that were dropped by the United States on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki during the Second World War were made with the help of Oppenheimer.
According to the ‘Collider’ website, after the Manhattan Project, Oppenheimer served as chairman of the US Atomic Energy Commission. The purpose of this commission was to slow down the Soviet Union’s development of chemical weapons.
In 1954, Oppenheimer began to be called a ‘communist’ for his work with various groups. He was released from service by the federal government, after which he did numerous works for science in exile as a teacher and theoretical physicist.
He was nominated three times for the Nobel Prize for his services to physics from 1946 to 1967, but never won the award.
In 1967, Julius Robert Hymer died of throat cancer.
On the other hand, if we talk about the Oppenheimer film, its main cast includes Irish actors Cillian Murphy, Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr., Jack Quaid and Florence Pudge.
