Popular Indian actor Anupam Kher has revealed that he will play the famous poet, philosopher and essayist Rabindranath Tagore in his 538th film.
According to Indian newspaper Hindustan Times, Anupam Kher announced the news on social app Instagram on Friday. He also shared his first picture as Rabindranath Tagore.
In the black and white picture, Anupam was dressed as Rabindranath Tagore. He also had white hair and a long beard.
Sharing the post, he wrote, ‘I feel happy to see Gurudev playing Rabindranath Tagore in his 538th project. I will inform the details (about the film) when the time comes.’
Anupam Kher’s post has also received reactions from his fans and followers.
‘Wow,’ wrote Parveen Dabs with a clapping emoji.
One fan said: ‘Oh my god sir, you really look like him.’
One follower said, ‘I believe no one can play this role better than you.’

Who was Rabindranath Tagore?

Rabindranath Tagore was the first Indian to win the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1913. He also wrote many songs along with national anthems of India and Bangladesh. These songs are known as ‘Rabindar Sangeet’.
Tagore is remembered by many names such as Gurudeva, Kabi Guru and Biswakabi, but he is usually remembered as the ‘Poet of Bengal’.
