Pakistan’s famous actor Shakeel Ahmed has passed away at the age of 85 in Karachi.

According to local media, family sources have said that Shakeel Ahmed was under treatment in a private hospital for the past few days and died on Thursday.

Shakeel Ahmed’s family said that he had undergone a bypass operation and was ill for many years.

Famous actress Bushra Ansari has expressed grief over the death of the senior actor.

He wrote in a post on Instagram that ‘You were a true hero. My dear friend Shakeel Ahmed has passed away. Someone has put a foot on the heart. Hey dear Ahmed! What kind of Eid is this?

Actor Shakeel Ahmed’s original name was Yusuf Kamal. He performed in many popular dramas.

His famous plays include ‘Uncle Arfi’, ‘Angan Teda’ and ‘Un Kahi’.

Governor Sindh Kamran Tesuri and caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab Mohsin Naqvi also expressed grief over the death of Shakeel Ahmed and condoled with the family.

Shakeel Ahmed’s funeral prayer will be offered tomorrow Friday after Asr prayer.
