Set in India, the story of Scoop Season revolves around crime reporters​

The plot of Scoop season revolves around a true story of Indian journalist Jaganna Vora Derived from ‘Behind Bars in Byculla’, a book based on his memoirs.

Byculla Jail is located in the Indian city of Mumbai, where he was held in legal custody and tried for alleged underworld links, including the murder of another journalist.

Jagannavora was a crime reporter who had been associated with Free Press Journal, Midday, Mumbai Mirror and Asian Age.

Actress Karisma Tanna has played the lead role of Jagannavora in this season as Jagruti Pathak in such a brilliant and flawless manner that she is getting buzzed everywhere.

Actor Harman Bavija appeared in the role of Joint Commissioner Harshwardan. Once upon a time, people used to call him Hrithik Roshan’s lookalike, but now with his increased weight and protruding belly, he is hardly recognized in this form.

All of the supporting actors are examples of excellent casting in their respective roles. However, the most notable actor is Zeeshan Ayub’s role of Imran Siddiqui, who is based on the personality of Jagannavora’s journalism teacher Hussain Zaidi.

The story is filmed in the context of the year 2011. Jagruti Pathak (Karishma Tanna) is shown as a budding crime reporter who rises to the rank of Deputy Bureau Chief within seven years through her hard work and talent.

She gets the complete trust of her family due to which she advances in the field of journalism.

It is common for him to make rounds of the Mumbai Crime Branch to be the first in the race to get the sensational crime news.

Meanwhile, a murder incident takes place, the fabric of which is visible to underworld don Dawood Ibrahim and his rival Chhota Rajan.

A senior crime journalist Jay Deep Sun is also investigating the same murder. The role is played by Bengali actor Prasun Jeet, who is originally based on the character of Indian journalist Jyotar Moyde, who was murdered by unknown assailants in broad daylight on 11 June 2011.

Jaideep specifically forbids Jagruti to stay away from the case but she refuses and tries to get Chhota Rajan to talk to her and give an interview, which she eventually succeeds in doing.

Jagruti keeps scratching the case and this scratch turns into a snake and binds its being. The case backfires and Jagruti is jailed. The scenes inside the women’s prison are heartbreaking. The depiction of the horrific life of the accused women trapped in the midst of habitual criminals is painful.

It also raises the question of when the 102 journalists who have been abducted or killed since 2000 will get justice.

Director Hansal Mehta has once again proved that he breathes new life into true stories by filming them which leaves a lasting impression on the heart and mind of the viewer. Before that, Hansal Mehta SCAM 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story Jesse had created a brilliant web series about the biggest ever fraud in the Indian stock exchange.

The season has a rating of 7.7 out of 10 on IMDB, while the Gadgets 360 website gives it a rating of 3.4 out of 5. Finally, through this story, these questions have been raised that when will protection be provided to male and female journalists investigating crime news in the field of journalism? When will this series of kidnappings and killings stop? Or will the story of Jagruti Pathak be repeated again in another form?
