Bollywood actress Ameesha Patel has surrendered before the Ranchi Civil Court in the check bounce case.

According to NDTV, Senior Division Judge DN Shukla granted Amisha Patel’s bail on Saturday and directed her to appear in person again on June 21.

This case was registered against the Bollywood actress in 2018. Jharkhand-based film producer Ajay Kumar Singh had filed a case of fraud and check bounce against the actress.

The Supreme Court had in August 2022 stayed criminal proceedings against Ameesha Patel for fraud in connection with a summons issued by a trial court in Jharkhand.

However, the Supreme Court had said that proceedings for offenses punishable under Section 138 (check bounce) of the Punishable Instruments Act can continue in accordance with law.

The Supreme Court gave this order while hearing an appeal filed by Ameesha Patel against the Jharkhand High Court’s May 5, 2022 order.
