Well, as soon as the teaser of any Bollywood film is released, the success of the film is judged by the likes or dislikes of the fans, but the box office earnings are what actually determines it.
Irrespective of the cast or the story of the film, the most important thing is the box office earnings.
According to Bollywood Life, a website that monitors the world of showbiz, nowadays films are setting records of 10 crores to 1000 crores at the box office, but in the past, doing a business of 10 crores was no less than a challenge.
Aamir Khan’s film Dangal and Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathan achieved historic success by doing business of 1000 crore Indian rupees at the box office.
These films of the Khans of Bollywood have set a new record by earning such a huge profit, whereas earlier even earning 100 crores or 10 crores was considered a big success.
But which are the films which first crossed the 1 crore milestone and now have crossed the new milestone by earning 1000 crores.
If we look back at the history of the Bollywood industry, it is known that the film Qastam released in the year 1943 was the first film to earn 1 crore and it was also called the first blockbuster.
The famous film Mughal Azam released in the year 1960 was the first film to gross 5 crores. The role played by Dilip Kumar and Madhubala in this film is still alive today, but its famous song ‘Jab Pyaar Kya To Darna Kya’ is one of the most popular songs.
After that, the first film to cross 10 crores was Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini’s 1975 film Sholay, whose dialogues are still repeated today.

Salman Khan and Madhuri Dixit’s 1994 film Hum Aap Ki Hain Koon set a new record of 50 crores.
Mr. Perfect’s film Ghajini, released in the year 2008, was the first film to earn 100 crores at the box office, while the first film to cross 200 crores was Aamir Khan’s 3 Idiots.
While the film which did business of 300 crores for the first time was also Aamir Khan’s film. The film ‘PK’ was a comedy film in which Aamir Khan and Anushka Sharma appeared together.
The first film to enter the 1000 crore club was Aamir Khan’s Dangal and achieved a historic success by doing business of 2000 crores worldwide.
The film that has been ruling the box office in recent times is the King of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan’s film ‘Pathan’, which has made a business of 1000 crore Indian rupees worldwide.
