To watch Asoor season available on online streaming site Voot, you will desperately need subtitles or else a Sanskrit dictionary may be included.
After watching Hindi language documentaries on National Geographic Channel, some Hindi words have stuck in people’s minds like Vasphot (explosion/destruction), Viman (plane), Mansik Santolan (mental balance) etc. But in this season, such Many words are used which are impossible to understand without subtitles.
Famous Bollywood actor Arshad Warsi made his acting debut on the big screen from the first season of this series which was released in March 2020. The second season of the series has been released on 1st June this year which has received a lively rating of 8.5 out of 10 on IMBD. Arshad Warsi has proved that he is a versatile actor by flying flags in the field of serious acting as well as comedy acting.
It is a thrilling psychological drama whose story creates such a whirlwind that the viewer gets immersed in it and does not even get a straw until the last episode is watched. The easier it is to catch a quick-tempered and violent killer, the more difficult it is to catch a calm and complacent killer. The difficulty in catching such a person increases when he is fully equipped with modern technology and is walking not two or three but ten steps ahead of the police.
Sora and Asura means Guan and Satan. According to ancient Hindu Vedic scriptures, asuras are power-seekers who are demigods who seek to equalize and win over the gods by any means necessary. This war has been going on since eternity and will continue forever. Hence the name of this season is suggested as Asur.
The story of the season is filmed in both past and present perspective. A boy ‘Shabh’ who is the villain of this season, after suffering the atrocities committed by his father since his childhood, starts a path of hatred and destruction from which there is no return. Shubh’s father calls him Asura because he believes that he was born at the wrong time according to Kundli, which is the time of birth of Asuras. Shub takes this seriously and takes revenge on the entire society for the abuse done to him and targets the common man. He appears as an Asura.
Shub is a highly intelligent but ‘Evil Genius’ person. A boy with a record-breaking IQ and memory who has been striving to achieve his goal since childhood. Finally, Shubh emerges as the uncrowned king of the dark web (hacker) and introduces himself as ‘Kali’, a scary face. The evening never comes. The CBI team tries desperately to save the life of each of his next victims but in vain.
The story incorporates many passages from the earliest Vedic scriptures of Hinduism, which Shubha uses to plot murders. But the writers have made it easy for the general audience to the extent that the actors speaking the dialogues can explain to the audience as a whole why the quote is being made and how it relates to the current situation.

The final episode of the season is a thriller that will not take your eyes off the screen (Photo: IMBD)
For example, Arshad Warsi’s character Dhanan Jay Rajput, a forensic expert, explains the Shubh method to his team and cites the Bhagavad Gita about the eternal battle between Devas (Suras) and Asuras. How is slowly moving towards the ‘Kal Yag’ which is the final stage of the war when he will attack with his full force.
This season also helps to understand the effects of social media on people today. When you download an app to your mobile and give it access to your photos, camera and microphone, you’re implicitly tying your hands. Thus, on your ‘solitude’ you strike an ax with your own hand. These machines listen to you, understand you and then tell their owners what to do next. This artificial intelligence is the future.
The last episode of the season is a thriller that does not let you take your eyes off the screen. Shubha describes himself and all the Asuras as infinite, showing that they are omniscient at all times, like the Gods. If so, can he evade the CBI again? Will Dhannan Jay Rajput with his team be able to catch this monster this time? To know all this and if you want to watch a tear-jerking drama then this season is a must watch.
