‘Mission to Ranjiganj – The Great Escape of Bharat’ is a gripping story of one of India’s greatest rescue lore from the coal mines of Bengal. Inspired by real-life hero Jaswant Gill, the story brings together an unsung hero. Actor in the film, Gaurav Prateek aka Divakar, had an exclusive chat with india.com and opened up about Akshay Kumar’s dull phase, how he bagged the role and more.

Gaurav Prateek Reveals How Low Akshay Kumar Is

Box Office is not always fair to everyone. Some movies set and break records, while others struggle with their own. Amid mixed reviews for the film, Gaurav Prateek opened up about how Akshay Kumar might be going through a bad time in BO. Referring to the same subject, he said, “I can say that Akshay Efendi is a versatile actor who is full of enthusiasm in his characters. Everyone has ups and downs in their life, some movies become hits and some fail. But I believe it all depends on the audience and how the film is promoted.”

Comparing Gadar 2, he said: “As in the beginning, no one thought ‘Gadar 2’ would be such a big hit, but it is the audience who decides what they like and how the marketing is done. But regarding ‘Mission Raniganj’, be it critics, Everyone who watched the movie, be it media or public, praised Akshay Sir and the rest of the actors. I would tell people to watch the movie once and then you would tell me how much you liked the movie. Akshay Sir has a long way to go and in everything he does “It’s going great. You can take examples from Amitabh Bachchan sir and Rajnikanth sir, who are still working in the film industry today. Akshay sir will not stop.”

How Did Gaurav Prateek Fight to Get a Role in the Film?

Auditions, casting, calls; Acting in a movie is a whole process. Giving information about his struggle, Gaurav said how it was a last minute event for him. The Missio Raniganj actor said, “When I spoke to Pooja Bhgnani, who I consider my godmother, she said that casting for our film was going on and I should go to the office, meet Director Tinu Sir and attend an audition. This was an important opportunity for me as I have been in the film industry for a long time.”

“But Tinu sir said, My son, you are too late; Casting for the film is almost complete… He said let me take a look. If there is something suitable for you I will let you know. Make an audition. I attended the audition and Tinu Sir really liked my acting. “He even said to me, ‘You’re a good actor,'” she said.

After that two days were spent waiting. Later, I received a call from Pooja Entertainment saying that I was selected for the character of ‘Dibakar’, who accompanies Akshay Kumar as his shadow. Each character has its own dignity and character that players must live to the fullest. I finally got the role of Dibakar and today I am receiving so much love from all of you for ‘Dibakar’ and ‘Mission Raniganj’. I thank everyone from the bottom of my heart. “This movie is of great importance to me.”
