Sara Rivers, former MTV singer Make a bandfiled a lawsuit against music monarch Shaun “Diddy” Combs, accusing him of abuse, career sabotage and sexual harassment during her time on the reality show.
According to TMZ, the lawsuit filed by Rivers attorney Ariel Mitchell also nominated MTV, Viacom and former employees of Bad Boy Entertainment, including Diddy’s mother Janice Combs and former supporter Fonzworth Bentley. Rivers claims she is exposed to sly tasks, including the infamous “cheesecake incident.” In addition to public humiliation, Rivers claims inappropriate living conditions while filming. For example, he was forced to sleep in a room with four other men, but was married at the time. She says she was threatened with removal from the show if she did not comply with these terms.
Rivers also accused Combs of disbanding most of her income while breaking up the DA band, robbing her financial opportunity, and maliciously sabotaging her music career. She also claims sexual harassment, claiming Diddy once brought her back to the corner, blocked her movements and touched her inappropriately.
In response, Combs’ legal team vehemently denied the allegations, calling the lawsuit a “false claim” and claiming that no one has ever sexually assaulted it. They believe these cases are useless and are part of the rush to file opportunistic claims before New York’s Gender-Motivated Violence Protection Act window closes on March 1st. Comb is sure he will win in court.
The lawsuit is part of many legal challenges that Comb faces following similar allegations made by former peers and victims, including four new cases filed in one day, as reported by Variety.
