While many may view this with doubt and disbelief, it appears not impossible for a variety of talented Pakistani actors to catch the eye of Indian filmmakers. Among the many local stars who share that they have been offered a project across the border, the charming Sonya Fussin is the latest.
In an interview with Independent UrduSonya revealed interesting details about her career choices and her thoughts on her dream co-stars. Discussing her preference for on-screen heroes, she named Ali Zafar her number one choice and praised his charisma.
“I’ve never thought of this, but I think Ali Zafar is very appealing about the film. I think he has the charm of a movie hero. There are a lot of contenders for the movie hero.
However, the conversation took an interesting turn when Sonya shared her experiences on an offer from the Indian film industry. She revealed that she was approached to three different projects. “I received three film offers from India, one of which was Shakespeare’s screen adaptation. Measurement. The other was a sequel to some old Sant Shukmar movies – I can’t remember the name,” she pointed out.
Of these offers, it was particularly outstanding. This is a film with the infamous Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi. “To that end, I met with the people involved, but then my interactions with India stopped completely,” she explained, referring to the suspension of cooperation between India and Pakistan following the URI attack and the subsequent ban on Pakistani artists working in India.
Sonya’s openness about these missed opportunities underscores the ongoing challenges facing artists in the region due to political tensions. Her reflections not only highlighted her career aspirations, but also revealed the broader implications of geopolitical issues in the arts and entertainment industry.
Celebrated with her realistic nature, talent and perfect style, Sonya captivated the audience with many avatars. Despite her growing popularity, the actor remains single, and fans are enthusiastically interested in planning their marriage. As a recent guest on Nadia Khan’s show, Sonya cooked about her dream wedding and revealed her stubborn attitude towards marrying an actor.
Sonya’s answers were refreshingly straightforward when quizzing her preferences while marrying a businessman and an actor. I think the actors are very self-obsessed. I’m an actor, so I think that self-exemption should only be one of us. When you are obsessed with yourself, you cannot pay attention to others. ”
Regarding the immediate wedding bell, Sonya said, “No, there’s nothing at this point. Everyone says I’ve finished my studies, worked a lot, built a house, and should get married now. Maybe I’m not part of this generation, because men feel that they’ve lost their chivalry and good manners.”
