Rising rap star Bigxthaplug was arrested early Wednesday morning in Texas on marijuana charges.
The 22-year-old rapper from Dallas was stopped by Arlington police to drive on an expired tag around 12am local time.
According to the Arlington Police Department, officers noticed the smell of marijuana as they approached the vehicle and asked Bigx and his passenger, Cleodist Landum, to go out.
Searching the car, officers found cigarettes, green leafy substances, and a handgun in the console and passenger door pocket.
Landum, who is reportedly a relative of Bigx, had an aggressive felony warrant from Bexar County. He was arrested on a warrant and for possession of marijuana and illegal transport of weapons.
Bigxthaplug is in custody at Arlington City Jail, charged with possession of less than two ounces of marijuana.
