Recent photos from singer R. Kelly from prison are now available online.
The 58-year-old artist, who has been sentenced to 30 years in prison following his conviction for sex trafficking in September 2021, was shown in an image not shared by previous Twitter jumpers.
In the photo, Kelly was wearing a long-sleeved white shirt with a green top, blue jeans and sneakers. Some users had speculated that the images were recent, but there was no official confirmation of when they were taken.
R. Kelly, born Robert Sylvester Kelly, was found guilty after the 2019 documentary Surviving R. Kelly brought testimony from the accuser. Kelly’s appeal to reduce his ruling was rejected in February 2025 by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
Kelly’s legal team is considering appeals to the U.S. Supreme Court. His lawyer, Jennifer Bonjan, argued that the use of the RICO law in his case was wrong, saying it was intended to target organized crime rather than individual actions.
Kelly’s charges stem from allegations that his associates helped him recruit and control the victims and form a criminal enterprise.
