new york:
After a six-year career, taxi driver actor Robert De Niro has appeared in his first television series, but he is not sure he will do it again.
“I don’t know. It’s a lot of work. It’s like doing three functions in a row,” said the veteran American actor.
De Niro portrays the former US president on Netflix’s Limited Series Zero Day. This explores the themes of truth and disinformation.
The De Niro character leads the Zero Day Commission in the wake of a cyber attack that caused chaos and killed thousands of people in the United States.
Matthew Modine, who plays a politician, said the show’s plot reflects how trust is lost in the institution.
“This isn’t a question of whether cyberattacks will occur in the US or other countries around the world. When is that,” he said.
According to De Niro, preparation for the role was intense.
“Learning all of that is a lot of work, and a lot of it was an exposition, especially in certain parts,” he said. “There wasn’t much room for paraphrase or anything like that or attachments…but it was worth it, right?”
The show was filmed during the last US presidential campaign, and creators Noah Oppenheim and Eric Newman said they were surprised at how amazing the art that mimics life was.
“We’re sets every day. Whether it’s election-related news or other events in the world, when I wrote about them on a show, when we thought we were fictional, you You’ll see what’s going on. I know, fragments of speculation and speculation,” Oppenheim said.
“And we saw these things unfold in the real world.”
Zero Day, which also stars Angela Bassett and Jesse Premons, will begin streaming on Netflix on Thursday. Reuters
