What did Fahar Zaman reveal to Mohammad Amir about the exit of the Champions Trophy?
Former Pakistani pacer Mohammad Amir revealed details of his conversation with Fakar Zaman and confirmed that the opener maintained side tensions during the opener of Pakistan’s ICC Champions Trophy 2025 Opener.
Speaking on a private TV channel, Amir shared that he contacted Fakar, who had an intimate friendship during the ILT20 stint to see if the injury was related to the knee or back .
The left-handed batsman revealed Amir was in secondary tension.
Amir also mentioned in the morning discussion that Fahar was experiencing a mild cough, revealing that it made the pain worse and it made it difficult to breathe. He added that such injuries usually take about six weeks to heal, followed by a rehabilitation period.
Fahar was injured in the first stages of the New Zealand innings and had to leave the scene for a medical evaluation. He later attempted to return, but he was forced to leave again.
Despite the discomfort, he hit during Pakistan’s 321 chase, but struggled and only scored 24 points.
On February 20th, Imam ul Haq was confirmed as Fakar’s successor in the Pakistani team.
He is scheduled to join the Dubai team today and is likely to appear in the highly anticipated clash with India on February 23rd.
